Concept Mapping_Web 2.0 tool

When I took a computers and problem solving course we experimented with many Web 2.0 tools.   One was a free concept mapping software found at http://www.mywebspiration.com/ it is modeled after inspiration concept mapping.  It is free, but is a beta.  What is cool about it is that it is meant for collaboration and once you create a concept map you can save it as a word document or google document which really translates your concept map into an outline.

It could be a really awesome tool to share with your students.  I could see it used to link different concepts in a chapter or across chapters.  Ultimately, if you model the mapping the students should collaborate on their own.

In fact, I made two different maps:  One for Technology in the Math Classroom and one for Properties of Exponents.  I used the exponents one a couple of years back and had the students add more to it.

In fact, play around with it before Tuesday if you can find time.   You need to create an account, but once you create the account please add more bubbles, comments, links, etc. I believe after I share it with you in webspiration you are good to go.  On Monday night I will save any revisions and post the concept map on the website.

Our state standards mention digitial citizenship and communication and collaboration and creating a concept is an excellent example.
